My name is Travis Lafond and I'm glad you stopped by my page. I hope you find some value in visiting my site today whether it be encouragement from the Word of God, some help understanding your insurance, or something that can help you become a better football player and/or coach.
My Story
Bay Area, CA -> Inland Empire, CA Faith, Family, Football, Career I've been through a lot in my short(ish) life and I hope to use the lessons I've learned the hard way to help others avoid the need of doing the same.
My Faith
I grew up in a Christian home, raised by both parents who still love the Lord! Praise God! Despite having this foundation, I made foolish decisions throughout my adolescence that really held me back in the growth of my faith and relationship with Jesus Christ. I decided to attend college at Azusa Pacific University and later worked on campus for an extended period of time. Since being in Southern California and seeking discipleship and closeness with Jesus, I have seen serious growth and sanctification. I know this work will continue until the day, the Lord takes me home.
My Family
I have been happily married to the woman God knew I needed since Winter of 2014. We have two children and a dog. We currently live in the Inland Empire in Southern California.
My Career
During and after college, I worked for the Department of Campus Safety at Azusa Pacific University. After about 12 years, I was given the opportunity to become a licensed insurance agent and own my agency. After working really hard through one of the toughest insurance markets in California history, I decided to return to Azusa Pacific University with their Custodial Department leading the night shift. In every position I've held, I've sought ways to invite the Lord into my work and be an encouragement to others.
My Coaching
While working at Campus Safety in 2012, I had a co-worker always talking about the basketball team he coached at a local Christian high school. He introduced me to the Athletic Director who then introduced me to the head football coach at Western Christian High School. I began coaching high school football in January of 2012 and coached through the Spring of 2017. My wife and I were expecting my first child and I was completing my Bachelor's degree while working full-time. I returned to coaching at Western Christian High School in 2025. I look forward to spending the remainder of my life building young men and encouraging them to be men of God through the game of football!
My Philosophy
"Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." - Matthew 6:33 If we seek the Lord in every aspect of our lives, He will fulfill our needs and desires.
Why I Built This Website
This started as a way to market my insurance skills and gain insurance clients and I realized that I am much more than just an insurance agent. The highest and best use of my life is to continuously turn others toward the King of kings, Lord of lords, and Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. He has preserved my life and brought me through some dark days so that I can help others reach out to Him through their dark days.
